Scuba diving (picture)

This was great! Scuba diving with (amongs many others) this massive Napolean Maori Wrasse in the Great Barrier Reef, of the coast of Airlie Beach. Yesterday, we made a trip to the outer reef, tomorrow we'll be sailing around the Whitsunday Islands on a 85-feet PURPLE catamaran! We're expecting much. See this picture for now:

All's well.

Dear people. As I write this, rumours are emerging about a possible military coup in Thailand. Just so you all know: We left Thailand on September 1 already. Right now we're completely safe and enjoying Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We will be departing for Sydney, Australia, on September 22. Cheers, Floor & Willem.

From Singapore (pictures)

Unfortunately still no high speed upload possibilities in Singapore. So only a few pictures for now.

Manora Waterfalls, Krabi, Thailand. It was very much a forest like in the fairytales.

A real Thai Massage.

Floor's musquito bites at the Perenthian Islands, Malaysia.

The kids at a Wayang puppet show in Malaysia. They went completely bezerk over the digital camera's. We live in a world so far apart from them!

Clown Anemone Fish just 1m into the water from our hotel. You may know this one from 'Finding Nemo'.

A formula 1 racecar on display (Team Williams).

Singapore Zoo, white (Bengal) Tigers.

Pictures Cameron Highlands

Our guide explaining the ins and outs of producing tea. We were at the famous 'Boh' tea plantations. Behind Floor, you can see the stretches of teashrubs forming nice looking bright green blankets.

This is a 'pitcher' plant, not carnivorous, but insectivorous, as we were explained yesterday. It was amazing, our guide explained about the medicinal features of the mossy forest; there's a cure to be found for just about every discomfort we treat in the hospital back home.

Cameron Highlands.

From the Cameron Highlands, this is the first post from Malaysia. The Internet connection speed is not up to standards for uploading pictures, so you'll have to do with text this time. This area is a bit cooler than Kuala Lumpur (KL), where we arrived friday after a two-hour flight from Phuket. Today we made a trip through the Mossy Forest, an extremely interesting habitat, with great views from the jungle now and then. Especially the tea plantations make up for a remarkable 'blanket' of fresh-looking green patches. KL was a bit disappointing, probably because we spent most of the time in Chinatown, where the cheap accomodation options are to be found. The 'hotel' was rediculously shabby. It'll be something to look back upon laughing. Let's just say the constant coming and going of youngh females made for a lively atmosphere...

Right now I'm posting from the complete opposite; the great hostel that we're staying in now really caters for all the needs of a backpacker! We have great views and it's comfortable, a treat when you're in the middle of nowhere! I hope to be able to quickly upload some more pictures, since they convey much more information and feeling of how it really is here.

After this, it's on tho the Perenthian Islands, where we hear the diving is excellent again. Untilll then.
